About us: Memphis Ranch Meat Company is a veteran-owned, family-operated business located in Carr, Colorado. Primal Bison is a brand of Memphis Ranch Meat Company — the two names refer to the same company. We sell grass-fed bison under the Primal Bison name through our website at primalbison.com, and we also operate memphisranch.com. Email, text messages, invoices, and shipments you receive from us may carry either name.

This Privacy Policy describes how Memphis Ranch Meat Company, doing business as Primal Bison ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from primalbison.com or memphisranch.com (the "Site"), when you buy from us in person at a farmers market or other event, or when you communicate with us by email, phone, or text message.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as "Device Information."

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as "Order Information."

When you provide your mobile phone number and opt in to receive text messages from us, we collect your mobile phone number, your consent record (including the date, time, and method by which consent was given), and your message history with us. We refer to this information as "SMS Information."

When we talk about "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, we are talking about Device Information, Order Information, and SMS Information.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site, including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and order confirmations. Additionally, we use Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you;
  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use Device Information to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site.

We use SMS Information solely to send you the categories of text messages you consented to receive, to respond to your inquiries, and to maintain records of your consent as required by law.

Who the messages come from

Text messages from us are sent by Memphis Ranch Meat Company and identify themselves as Primal Bison, our brand name. They come from our business line, (720) 713-1622. If you receive a text beginning with "Primal Bison," it is from us.

Consent

We send SMS and MMS messages only to individuals who have affirmatively opted in to receive them, or who have initiated contact with us by text message.

You may opt in by:

  • Texting our business line at (720) 713-1622. We treat your inbound message as consent for us to reply to you.
  • Providing your phone number when you place an order. We use that number to send order and delivery information for that order, including coordinating local deliveries we make personally.
  • Providing written or verbal consent in person at a farmers market or other event where we sell our products.
  • Submitting a text-message signup form on our website, where offered, and checking the SMS consent box.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.

Types of messages we send

  • Customer care: replies to your questions about orders, shipping, products, and cooking.
  • Delivery notifications: order confirmations, shipping updates, and delivery status, including coordinating local deliveries we make personally.
  • Marketing: promotional offers, product restock announcements, and seasonal availability, sent only to customers who have separately opted in to marketing messages.

Message frequency and cost

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard messaging rates apply to all messages sent to and from your device. We are not responsible for any charges imposed by your carrier.

How to opt out or get help

You may opt out of receiving text messages from us at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you reply STOP, we will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further messages unless you opt in again.

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We share your Personal Information with third parties who help us operate our business, as described above. Mobile information and SMS consent

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories of sharing exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Your mobile phone number and SMS consent record are shared only with the service providers that deliver messages on our behalf, and only for the purpose of delivering those messages to you. Those providers are contractually prohibited from using your information for any other purpose.

BEHAVIOURAL ADVERTISING

We use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. DATA RETENTION

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. We retain SMS consent records for as long as you remain opted in, and for a reasonable period afterward as required to demonstrate compliance with applicable law.

DO NOT TRACK

Please note that we do not alter our Site's data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

CHANGES

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The effective date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
